Solid foundations

Thornhill Shann was founded by siblings Tommy and Chloe Shann and are now proudly joined by Harry Shann. Driven by an unwavering commitment to quality and a dedication to skilled craftsmanship, we have earned a distinguished reputation as specialists in refurbishing London and the Home Counties’ finest residences.

Our highly personalised approach ensures that each project has a dedicated team, guaranteeing meticulous execution and seamless collaboration with clients and their professional teams. We take pride in fostering trusted, long-term relationships, with the majority of our work coming through recommendations—a true testament to our clients' confidence in our ability to deliver exceptional results.

Meet the Team

  • Tom ‘Tommy’ Shann

    DIRECTOR

    Tommy is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders, holds a BSc in Construction Management, and is an active member of the Federation of Master Builders.

    With a career spanning more than 20 years, Tommy has worked on many prestigious projects, including South Bank Tower and Sea Containers House. During his time as Contracts Manager at Symm, Tommy led the delivery of some of the UK’s most exclusive residential properties.

    Tommy founded Thornhill Shann in 2016, with the vision of creating a high-end construction company that prioritises customer satisfaction and excellence in project delivery. 

  • Kamila Topi

    PROJECT MANAGER

    Kamila holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). A highly skilled finance professional, she has spent the last five years at Thornhill Shann, where she has built a reputation for analytical expertise and a conscientious approach to every project.

    Kamila brings a wealth of diverse skills to the team. She is renowned for her patience, work ethic and determination. She speaks fluent Albanian (which has proven invaluable on numerous occasions), and is instrumental in the continued growth of the company.

  • Andrew Moss

    QUANTITY SURVEYOR

    With nearly fifty years in the industry as consultant estimator/surveyor, Andrew has an in-depth knowledge of contract and commercial management. He is aware of the importance of retaining relationships with the customer from the initial site visit to handing over the key to the front door on completion.

    Andrew has worked for over thirty years specialising in high-end domestic projects, many in London and some country estates, including new build “stately” homes. 

    He has been engaged with Thornhill Shann Construction Limited from it’s earlier days, often involved in projects from inception to completion and advising clients of cost changes and financial options during the building process, to allow customers monetary control. 

  • Harry Shann

    PROJECT MANAGER

    In 2020, Harry left a successful career in investment management to work alongside his brother, Tommy. With a wealth of experience in financial and risk analysis, Harry brings a unique set of skills to the company.

    Working in partnership with Architects and Interior Designers, Harry’s program management skills ensure every project is delivered on budget, on time, and to the highest standards.

    His expertise in data-driven decision-making and risk assessment, have played a pivotal role in shaping Thornhill Shann's communications processes. Since joining the company, he has streamlined our site management and project delivery systems, completely transforming our operational and client reporting capabilities.

  • Joshua Young

    DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    Joshua is Thornhill Shann’s Director of Business Development. He brings a strong entrepreneurial mindset to the role, along with rich design and digital expertise.

    Having co-founded and run his own businesses, he understands the need for both a growth mindset and customer-first business ethic. After leaving a sales role in the media industry, Joshua ran an online natural fragrance company, a luxury wellness retreat and a financial management company. He has a hands-on approach to his role and is committed to nurturing Thornhill Shann’s reputation for excellence.

  • Harry Barker

    PROJECT MANAGER

    Harry began his career in Current Affairs at the BBC. Six years immersed in this this fast-paced environment developed his problem-solving skills and efficiency in project management. 

    From broadcasting, Harry transitioned to construction, starting as an on-site carpenter. Here, he developed an appreciation for the craft and an understanding of construction project logistics.

    Harry has been with Thornhill Shann for four years, overseeing projects from inception to completion. With a diverse background that blends communication and hands-on construction expertise, Harry brings a unique skill set to the company. Bridging the gap between planning and execution, he leads teams, and liaises with customers and partners.

  • Tarka Brudenell-Bruce

    PROJECT MANAGER

    Tarka has been a Project Manager at Thornhill Shann for the past three years. He holds a degree in Product and Industrial Design, and having previously worked as a CAD designer, has an incredible eye for detail.

    Tarka combines creative vision with a strong background in economics and mathematics. He is highly skilled in project budgeting, planning, and problem solving. Working closely with Architects and Interior Designers, Tarka ensures every project is completed immaculately.
